This wine is the symbol of Ornellaia: produced for the firt time in 1985, it is made with carefully selected grapes coming from the best vineyards of the estate. The blend of Ornellaia 2020 is composed as follows: 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot. The colour is intense ruby red, with great consistency. The nose has a rich, ample and sophisticated bouquet, with hints of ripe red fruit accompanied by delicate notes of vanilla and sweet tobacco. In the mouth it is soft and velvety, with a pleasant and enveloping entry into the mouth. It is characterized by thick and at the same time elegant tannins, with a savory and persistent finish. Ornellaia 2020 is a wine suited for long aging, perfect to be enjoyed alone or in combination with beef fillets, roasts, game and mature cheeses.
The character of Ornellaia 2020, the 15th edition of Vendemmia d’Artista, was “La Proporzione” (Proportion), which evokes the perfect balance between parts and the whole. Joseph Kosuth was the artist chosen to interpret “La Proporzione”.
