Brunello di Montalcino Vignaferrovia by Marchesi Antinori is made in the best vintages; the grapes come from a 4-hectare vineyard located near the old Pian delle Vigne railway station. The first vintage of Vignaferrovia was made in 2004. In the glass, it is ruby red with light garnet shades. The bouquet is wide, complex and intense, where you can perceive notes of plum and cherry, dried lavender, sandalwood and mediterranean herbs. In the end, more complex scents of cocoa, cinnamon, cloves come to the nose, besides the hematic perception typical of Sangiovese vine. The sip is rich, enveloping, with silky and elegant tannins. Notes of leather and tobacco follow a light balsamic and mint-recalling sensation. The after-taste is long and persistent. Brunello di Montalcino Vignaferrovia by Marchesi Antinori is recommended with game, barbecued meat, traditional Tuscany cold cuts, matured cheese.
