Description

Angelo Gaja has managed to change some aspects in the oenology of Piedmont, thanks to his ideas and tenacity. The Gaja Barbaresco wine is produced starting from a selection of the best grapes deriving from 14 different vineyards collocated in the districts of Treiso and Barbaresco. This is an elegant wine that expresses different personalities according to the years. Its colour is a kind of dark red, with some orange nuances, while the smell reveals hints of vanilla, and fruited perfumes of mature red fruit, jam, humus, tobacco and licorice. The taste is really fresh and mineral and this gives it a great structure and nobility. Moreover, it is endowed with a particular capacity of aging and so it is perfect in combination with important platters, as roasts, game and seasoned cheeses.

The cave was built in 1859 in Barbaresco, in the centre of the Langhe, and all along it is recognized as one of the name-symbol in the production of Barbaresco.
