Description

This type of wine is endowed with a great balance and pleasantness: it is produced with Nebbiolo grapes deriving from the “Torretta” vineyard, situated in back of Canale, in the center of the Roero territory. This wine presents a ruby red colour, with some garnet-colored reflexes, while its includes an intense and complex bouquet of blueberries, strawberries, violet, in addition to hints of tobacco and spices. The taste is a warm one, and it is possible to recognize great balance and acidity; moreover, it is a persistent wine, especially if combined with roasted or braised beef, boiled meat typical of Piedmont, game and seasoned cheeses.

In 1930 Cesare Porello transforms his properties in a real winery, even if this last was of little sizes, by combining wine’s to peaches’ production, a typical product of Canale.
