Description

The Gorgona by Marchesi Frescobaldi Gorgona is a unique wine, that is the result of a social project born in August 2012 from the collaboration between Frescobaldi and Gorgona, a beautiful penitentiary island within the Tuscan Archipelago National Park. Thanks to this project, prisoners who spend the last period of their sentence here can work in contact with nature, acquiring professionalism and experience that will facilitate their reintegration into society. Gorgona wine comes from a small vineyard of two hectares planted in Vermentino and Ansonica. The cultivation is carried out by the inmates of the penitentiary, with the collaboration and supervision of the Frescobaldi agronomists. What you get is an extraordinary wine, a symbol of hope and freedom. Gorgona 2022 shows in the glass a beautiful straw yellow color, while on the nose it develops a large and floral bouquet, with notes of white and yellow flowers, of Mediterranean scrub on which chamomile, daisy, mimosa and broom stand out . Notes of exotic fruits, such as mango, papaya, passion fruit and pineapple follow, in addition to pleasantly citrus scents. The finish is mineral. In the mouth it is tasty, fresh and long. Very persistent, complex and intense, it is striking for its total taste-olfactory response. Gorgona 2022 by Marchesi Frescobaldi is an extraordinary wine, perfect for accompanying fish-based dishes.
