The Vino Chinato from Cantina Bartolo Mascarello is a true gem of the Piedmontese tradition, crafted in extremely limited quantities. It is made from a base of Barolo docg and infused with cinchona bark, spices, and selected medicinal herbs according to an ancient family recipe. In the glass, it shows a deep garnet red color, while the nose reveals a rich bouquet of the many spices used in the infusion. On the palate, it is warm, smooth, and features a long, sweet finish, offering a remarkable balance between sweetness, bitterness, and aromatic complexity. Perfect as a digestif, either on its own or paired with dark chocolate, it’s also ideal for sipping slowly from small glasses on cold winter evenings. For over seventy years, the Mascarello family has faithfully continued the production of this elixir, using the original, unique recipe passed down through generations.
