Garnet red
Wide and composite
Harmonious and persistent
The Gattinara DOCG by Nervi is a red wine of great character and expressiveness, bearing the signature of Giacomo Conterno, one of the most celebrated figures in the Italian wine scene. The Nervi winery, founded in 1905 by Luigi Nervi in Valsesia, at the foot of Monte Rosa, was acquired in 2018 by Roberto Conterno, giving it new momentum while preserving the typicality of Alto Piemonte wines. Gattinara by Nervi is made from Nebbiolo grapes grown on volcanic soils, resulting in a wine of remarkable elegance and minerality. After aging for 36 months in large oak barrels, it presents in the glass with a garnet red color and intense, brilliant reflections. On the nose, the bouquet is broad and complex, with notes of ripe fruit and spices. The palate is harmonious, elegant, and tannic. With a full flavor, great depth, and extraordinary persistence, Gattinara by Nervi Connterno is perfect for enjoying during a dinner with friends, pairing beautifully with baked pasta dishes, meat-based ragù, meat entrees, game, and moderately aged cheeses. Thanks to the expertise and mastery of Giacomo Conterno, Nervi's Gattinara is considered an excellent example of Nebbiolo from Alto Piemonte, less austere than Barolo but with a unique personality that combines elegance and strength.
