Description

Barolo docg Gallinotto by Mauro Molino is an austere and powerful red wine made from Nebbiolo grapes sourced from a very unique vineyard, once undervalued and overlooked. The distinctiveness of this plot lies in its altitude: the vines grow at over 450 meters above sea level, on well-exposed slopes, benefiting from a significant temperature difference between day and night, which translates into aromatic freshness and elegance in the glass. The whole grapes undergo a 15-day maceration on the skins, followed by malolactic fermentation in large oak barrels. The wine is then aged in wood for about 18 months. In the glass, it reveals an intriguing garnet red color with appealing transparency. The nose is fruity, broad and noble, with balsamic notes reminiscent of eucalyptus. On the palate, it is enveloping, full-bodied and structured, with excellent persistence. Barolo docg Gallinotto by Mauro Molino pairs wonderfully with slow-cooked red meats, dishes featuring porcini mushrooms and White Truffle.
