Garnet red with ruby reflections
Fresh and elegant
Tannic and persistent
The Barolo del Comune di La Morra by Marcarini is an elegant red wine made exclusively from pure Nebbiolo grapes grown in historic vineyards located solely in the municipality of La Morra, in the heart of the Langhe region. This Barolo is renowned for its refined character, which reflects the unique pedoclimatic conditions of the area, characterized by calcareous and clayey soils enriched with magnesium. The vines, planted between 1978 and 2001, are cultivated at altitudes ranging from 300 to 380 meters above sea level, with southern and southwestern exposures. The winemaking process adheres to traditional methods, featuring long macerations and aging in large Slavonian oak casks. This technique imparts a complex aromatic profile and a well-balanced tannic structure to the wine. The resulting wine showcases a beautiful garnet red color with ruby reflections. On the nose, it offers a fresh and elegant bouquet, marked by intense aromas of small red fruits and floral notes such as violets and roses. On the palate, it presents a good acidity, fine tannins, and a long aromatic persistence. The Barolo del Comune di La Morra by Marcarini pairs excellently with significant dishes like roasts, game, meat-filled ravioli and aged cheeses. While enjoyable even in its youth, this wine also has good aging potential.
