Medium intensity ruby red
Aromatic and intriguing
Fresh and spiced
The Verduno Pelaverga doc by Scarpa is a unique and rare wine, produced with pure Pelaverga grapes grown exclusively in the small town of Verduno, located in the heart of the Langhe, in Piedmont. Pelaverga is an indigenous vine that has found its ideal habitat in this area, characterized by calcareous-clayey soils and a microclimate favorable to the ripening of the grapes. The harvest takes place manually, with a rigorous selection of the grapes to guarantee maximum quality. Winemaking follows a traditional process, with fermentation in steel tanks at a controlled temperature to preserve the delicate varietal aromas. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 6 months in steel before being bottled. At the waist it is striking for its beautiful ruby red color of medium intensity. On the nose, it offers an aromatic and intriguing bouquet, with notes of fresh red fruits such as strawberry and cherry, accompanied by spicy hints of white pepper, aromatic herbs and a floral touch of rose. On the palate it is fresh and captivating, with a light structure and soft tannins. The good acidity gives the wine a pleasant freshness and a clean and persistent finish, with a spicy finish. The Verduno Pelaverga doc by Scarpa is perfect for accompanying a variety of dishes. It pairs beautifully with appetizers, cured meats, fresh cheeses and vegetable dishes. It is also ideal with white meats, fish and eel.
