Intense ruby red
Rich and complex
Full and enveloping
The Barbera d'Asti DOCG Bricchi by Scarpa is made from grapes grown on the "I Bricchi" estate on the hills of Monferrato, one of the most prestigious wine regions in Piedmont. The term "Bricchi" refers to the higher and sunnier hills where the grapes achieve optimal ripeness thanks to an ideal microclimate and mineral-rich soils. The harvest is done manually, with careful selection of the best clusters to ensure excellent quality. Hand-picking helps preserve the integrity of the grapes, which are immediately transported to the winery for vinification. The Barbera d'Asti "Bricchi" follows a traditional vinification process with fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperatures to preserve the fresh and fruity aromas of the grape variety. Subsequently, the wine is aged in French oak barrels for a period of 22 months; this step adds complexity and structure to the wine. Afterward, the wine rests in the bottle for 6 months before being released to the market. In appearance, it has a beautiful, intense ruby red color. On the nose, it impresses with its rich and complex bouquet. Notes of ripe red fruits, such as cherry and plum, are accompanied by hints of spices and a light herbal note on the finish. On the palate, it is full and enveloping, with medium structure and good acidity typical of Barbera. The tannins are mild, and the finish is long and persistent, with pleasant mineral notes. The Barbera d'Asti DOCG "Bricchi" by Scarpa is a very versatile wine that pairs beautifully with a wide range of dishes. It is ideal with red meats, roasts, lasagne alla Bolognese and aged cheeses. It is also perfect with traditional Piedmontese dishes such as agnolotti del plin and tagliatelle with meat sauce.
