This elegant Barbera d’Asti wine takes its name from a dialectal expression of Piedmont: “Ai Suma”, that means “Here we are”, or better we have reached the wished level. This is a great wine of the cave, only produced in the best and favourable years. It owns an intense ruby red colour, with some dark red nuances; its perfumes are various with hints of cherry and mixed berries, vanilla, liquorice and cacao. Furthermore, it is endowed with a big structure and a good acidity, besides its persistence. For this reasons, the Barbera d'Asti Ai Suma by Giacomo Bologna has to be drunk in combination with flavourful first courses, second platters based on meat, roasts and seasoned cheeses.
