The Barbaresco Vallegrande Riserva Viti Vecchie by Cà del Baio represents the flagship of the Grasso family's winemaking production. First produced in 2018 with Nebbiolo grapes from the estate's oldest vineyards, it is a rich and tannic Barbaresco with a traditional style. Aged for 30 months exclusively in large Slavonian oak barrels of second and third passage, it rests for an additional 12 months in bottle before being released onto the market. With a beautiful garnet-red color, it develops intense and fruity aromas on the nose, with notes of orange, violets, blackberries, rhubarb, and incense. On the palate, it is dry, velvety, and harmonious, with a warm and tannic finish. Ready to drink already three years after the harvest, it has an aging potential of 10-15 years. The Barbaresco Vallegrande Riserva Viti Vecchie by Cà del Baio pairs perfectly with roast and stewed meats, as well as aged cheeses.
