Description

Brunello di Montalcino docg “Le Macioche” 2017 is a great vintage. It is produced with 100% Sangiovese grapes, coming from vines that are at least 25 years old. The rows are grown with guyot method and the vineyards are located at 450 meters height above the sea level. Due to the hot and dry Summer, the wine presents a more intense and rich structure. The colour is vivacious: ruby red colour with maroon shades. The nose is intense: you can perceive scents of plum jam, dried flowers, tobacco. The sip is strong, well-structured and round. The tannin is vigorous but perfectly balanced with the tasting profile. Perfectly paired with grilled red meat and game.
The story behind the name "Le Macioche" is curious and nice. The name recalls the arbutus roots, called "Macioca" in Italian. The meaning is represented on the front label of the bottles and refers both to the relationship with the origins and the family tradition, and the power of innovation that makes the wine production growing from the roots.
