The "Monella" of Giacomo Bologna is a Barbera d’Asti wine with a lively and young character; its name derives from the habit of Giacomo Bologna’s father, who called “La Monella” the most rebellious cask of his cave. This wine presents a ruby red colour with some yellow-crowned nuances and a little sparkling: the smell is various and fruited in addition to scents of red fruits and dog rose. It is a lively wine, very fresh, too and for these peculiarities it accompanies perfectly typical platters of Piedmont, flavourful first courses, red and white meats, boiled meat and medium seasoned cheeses.
