Domaine de La Croix Mélier

Domaine de la Croix Mélier is a tiny family-based jewel located between Montlouis-sur-Loire and Saint-Martin-le-Beau among Loire hills. This is one of the regions most suited to viticulture in France. Here, Philippe and Dominique Ivancic, owners of the estate, grow with engagement and passion 12 hectares of vineyards. The aim is enhancing the local vine varieties, above all Chenin Blanc, that found in these soils the perfect habitat. With this variety they produce both still and sparkling wines using either the traditional method or enhancing the spontaneous fermentation. In 2019 they started applying the organic methods and in 2022 the winery became officially certified as organic. The respect for the terroir and nature is constantly applied: only mechanical interventions are allowed, avoiding chemical products. All wines are characterized by the typical freshness and minerality, and deeply represent the soils of Loire valley.
