The Domaine de L'Ile is located on the island of Porquerolles, within the archipelago of the Islands of Hyères, in Provence (France). The history of the Domaine de l'Ile is closely linked to that of Porquerolles: the island, devastated by fires at the end of the nineteenth century, rises to new life when it was purchased by the Belgian entrepreneur François-Joseph Fournier at the beginning of 900, as a wedding gift for his future bride Sylvia. The island, under their guidance, becomes an agricultural oasis in a short time. In 1957, the four daughters of the Fournier family inherited Porquerolles: three of them sold their share to the French state, while Lélia Fournier Le Ber maintained his own by implementing the vineyards. She was succeeded by her son, Sébastien Le Ber, who continued the family business; in 2019, the Domaine de L'Ile was sold to Chanel. Currently the winery has an area of about 30 hectares, 22 of which are planted with vines and the remaining with olive trees. The peculiarity of the land, combined with the uniqueness of the Mediterranean climate and the unspoilt nature that surrounds the vineyards, give rise to wines known throughout the world.
